A while ago I asked if a .410 shotgun can safely fire 45 colt, .454 casull and 460 S&W, and learned shotguns are low pressure only.
what if I went about it reversed? could a .460 S&W caliber rifle safely shoot .454 casull and 45 colt in it safely? I think .460S&W is the highest pressure as its the most powerful? they all share similar case dimensions- the 454 was made from a longer 45 colt case, the 460s&w from the 454 casull case. since the 460 is the longest, then the 454 casull and 45 colt should all fit in the same chamber. It'll be like shooting .38 special in a 357 revolver. that can be done safely, so from a 460 S&W chamber 454 casull and 45 colt can be done that way too?
what do you guys think?
also is it possible to have a gunsmith lengthen the 460 S&W chamber to 3" to also accept a .410 shotshell? (I know rifled barrels don't work well with shotgun shot) . 410 and 45 colt shares compatible case dimensions (besides that the 410 is very long)

its because if this would work it would be the ultimate survival rifle. I would be able to chamber 4 different cartridges of 4 different power levels that would allow me to hunt anything from small game like squirrels and rabbits to really big game like small bears. The four different cartridges each has at least 3 different kinds of (manufacturer) loads, from really weak to really powerful. at the very least greater than 12 different power levels, suitable for nearly any kind of use. There's no other single caliber quite like that. closest would be .223, which I've heard can take varmint mostly to deer, elk, and bear, but its not legal to hunt larger game with a .223 caliber rifle.
What is the highest number colt 45 you can get as of now.

Most people will tell you 45acp (automatic colt pistol) is the best self defence caliber, simply not true. Read FBI research on penetration , my guess is no government agency still uses .45 as a duty weapon 9mm and .357sig are the most stopping power of all calibers.

Yes, they can fire 2 different rounds BUT the .45 Colt round is very expensive, ( I think the .357 mag is half the price and better) and the .410 shotshell is supposedly not that effective (except for snakes). Does anyone who owns this revolver can offer some insight? Thanks!

The Titans losing a 59-0 to the Patriots was pathetic. No NFL should lose that bad and be down by 45 at halftime. This was the biggest blowout I've witnessed in the NFL. Also got beaten by 20+ in games against the Colts and Jaguars. That 13-3 record last season is looking more and more like the fluke I thought it was. If I have a shotgun in .410 caliber, it can also chamber and safely shoot .45 colt, right? (assuming choke isn't an issue)
But I recently learned it may also be able to chamber .454 casull and .460 S&W magnum?
the above two share a similar case with .45 colt, the parent case of the 460 is the 454 and the 454 was born out of the 45 colt case.
since its a shotgun, the shotgun chamber (3") would be large enough to chamber the 3 different handgun cartridges?
what about pressure? even though its always best to only shoot what the gun is specifically chambered for, could most .410 shotguns safely shoot .454 casull and 460 magnum?

i was at a gun store a few days ago im looking for a 1911 model 45 and they had a new colt for 1099 dollars and a new kimber for 1050 dollars. they looked almost alike the finish and grips but the kimber had that laser grip that i would really like. which would be a better buy?

Im sure many of you have been anticipating on the release of the new map pack. Here is some information on what we will be releasing on November 12:
Will take place in area 51 Nevada and will be the last map pack.
• As of now the Zombie Map name is undecided but, Rotäuger is being considered
• The Pack-a-Punch machine will make a return only this time around you can upgrade just about anything from your bowie knife to grenades and even monkey bombs
• Biggest map yet with 3 stories and various Teleporter locations
• More doors to open, guns to buy, and secrets to discover
• The mystery box will be back and this time there will be a chance of receiving already upgraded weapons as well as two modern warfare weapons thrown into the mix
• Brand new gun the 37.8 Polychromatic Rifle, it shoots plasma projectiles that latch on to zombies causing them to explode spraying more of the stuff everywhere. The chain reaction will end there but with a 7 shot clip with 85 shots to spare its one hell of a rifle
• Downloaded along with 3 multiplayer maps
• Includes many different types of zombies:
1. Nazi (German)Zombies
2. Imperial (Japanese)Zombies
3. Regio Esercito(Italian) Zombies
4. Hungarian, Romanian, and Bulgarian Zombies
5. Zombie dogs will make a return along with 2 other brand new animals
6. Zombie birds will bring a whole new element as you will have to watch the skies

• Each character will start with different pistol that depends on their nationality(Dempsey gets the Colt 45 while Takeo gets the Nambu)
• Double tap will not return nor will quick revive instead they will be incorporated into Speed Cola which will now cost 3750 points(On a side note double tap will not be as fast nor reviving as quick)
• In place of those perks will be stopping power for 2200 points and R&G soda which gives you to ability to Run and Gun or, run while shooting, as well as run longer distances and this will sell for 1750 points

would like to obtain these rounds for my Cobray/leinad 45/410 Derringer double barrel, Does anyone know if you can used standard 45 shells in this gun?
I already have a ruger lcp for concealed carry. I am shopping for something full sized for the truck and home and carry in the winter when I'm in heavier clothing or jackets. Specifically, I'm thinking .45 ACP in a 1911 style.
All that being said, I am thinking long term here, I want something that might concievably last me for decades if the current you-know-whats in office do what I think they might and I can't ever replace it, or the prices or availability get out of whack. I also want something that is just as accurate as a kimber but that will be highly reliable. Keep it mind it's for self defense, and not for competition.
It would also be great to be able to swap out a .22 barrel for cheap practice.
So - all that being said, is the difference in the Kimber worth it? Is it that noticeable? If I'm practicing with a friend that already has a kimber, am I going to suck (aside from personal ability or the lack thereof) ? Will it last that much longer? I know they are supposed to be excellent guns, but, I am wondering exactly how excellent relative to the rest. The price for the Kimber Custom II isn't that much more than for any other decent 1911, so that's not a dealbreaker one way or the other. In fact - compared to some colts, or the Les Bauer, it's anywhere from just less to much less.

1. Yup. I agree w/ the support of the NRA and joined for 5 years this time. I'd join for life but didn't want to let loose of the cash at that moment. For awhile afterwards, they were signing folks up for free and I got some friends on board.
2. I am afraid of our glorious new messiah and I think everyone should be. His agenda is obviously well beyond being in charge for a few years.

4. Yes - I'd considered the Para-Ordnance but they are Canadian and all things being equal -yes, I'd like to buy American. That being said, Colt has done and said some things as a company that lean them a bit further left than I'd prefer to support.
The Springfield XDM is on my list of possibilities. My late father left me a Springfield Arms .22 rifle that he used to help feed the family with during the depression (squirrel and rabbit - not deer obviously). It wasn't new when he got it. I have been back and forth on the best defensive ammo for my Colt Government 45. The hornady tap + p hits a lil high yet packs about 250 more fps and about 80- 100 ft lbs more energy. On the other hand the win silver hollowpoints shoot to the sights. Then there is the cci fmj that works as advertised as well. Which should I have in my 1911A1 ?
